WWII Front line Kent Childhoods, An Oral history project
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding by The Big Lottery to expand this project from the pilot project ( supported by a small Kent County Council combined members grant) . The key expansion provided by the Big lottery award is that we shall be training young adults to help us both with the interviews and in filming the places mentioned by our interviewees in Folkestone, Hythe, Margate and Ramsgate. We are seeking two trainees from each of these Kent seaside towns. We would love to hear from any individuals or organisations who might like to take up this training opportunity. We offer volunteers two training workshops between September and December and the opportunity to assist with interviews and filming in early 2019.
Dover, Folkestone, Hythe, ramsgate & Margate.
If you spent your childhood in one of these seaside towns during WWII we would love to hear your story

Folkestone Under Attack

A new project for 2019-20
An oral history and video project centred on the map in Folkestone Museum showing where bombs, shells and VI rockets fell during WWII. The idea is to add live testimony to an otherwise rather dry exhibit. part funded by Folkestone Town Council.
We need to raise £3000.00 to start this project So far we have raised £1250.00 £500 from Folkestone Town Council and £750.00 from Folkestone & Hythe District Councillor Frank McKenna by way of a ward grant. Thank you!
We still need to raise £1,750.00 by the end of March 2019
