Last night saw the second launch of our journal Transitions 3 at the Dragon Café in Southwark. Second because this edition was published jointly with The Mental Fight Club who both run the Café and provided some of the writers. The first launch was last November as part of the Folkestone Book Festival. It was a great opportunity for Folkestone talent to reach a wider audience and to share a platform with Ben Okri. Heartfelt thanks to all those who took part especially those who made the trip to London to perform with us: Maiuko, Leah Thorn and Gillian White. The collaboration with Mental Fight club grew from our friendship with Sarah Wheeler, Dragon Café founder and creative director of MFC who contributed to an earlier edition and invited us to the Dragon Café to give readings. Here are her comments on the event:
Just to say a very big and heartfelt thank you for all your contributions and performances last night. It made for an amazing event, from which I have received much positive feedback already. So Cosmic Gratitude to all of you for having the courage and creative spirit to step up to the mike last night.Once more thanks again, Brave Comrades!, it was great for us all to be together and for Ben Okri also to endorse all the hard creative work that has been manifested through the exciting Transitions Partnership. Here's to many more collaborations in the future. Thank you Sarah and Ben!
