Our 2013 Folkestone Book Festival  Walk

Sun 24 November 
Meet 11.00 at The  Quarterhouse, 
Tontine Street, Folkestone. 

No two Pavement Pounders guided walks are ever the same. Their offering for the 2013 Book Festival will lead us down untrodden paths and shed new light on familiar byways. En route we shall meet and be entertained by the odd guest speaker with tales both tall and short. Join us.

The Launch Of Our Journal "Transitions 3 "

Transitions is a journal of crossings containing stories, articles or poems concerned with the personal experience of the universal themes of crossings, transitions and transformations. Transitions 1 reflected these themes through mythological concepts of migration, home and otherworldliness. Transitions 2 through the ‘liminal’ and the ‘fountain’. Published by Pavement Pounders in partnership with Mental Fight Club, a charity which supports those recovering from mental illness, With a poem by its patron, Ben Okri, Transitions 3 addresses the themes of ascent, recovery, transformation and reintegration.


A free event with readings, music and drinks
Transitions 3 sells at £7.00 per copy




Part of the Folkestone Book Festival, The Poetry Pop-Up Shop will provide a showcase for clothing, pottery, wall hangings and films that feature poetry on the theme of identity. 16-24th November 2013

What You Did For Us In The Park

Our contribution to the Big Draw 2013. 19th October. 
The Big Draw theme this year is “Drawing tomorrow”.  We invited you to the  soon to be redeveloped “Payers Park” to draw what you would like to see there by “drawing the future”. It rained all day so we had to move to our studio in the Old High Street where you made these drawings for us. Thank you

Rain morphs Big Draw Event into Open Studio

WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE PARK?

Because it is raining and likely to for most of the day,this event will now take place at David Lay's studio 42a The Old High Street Folkestone between 1 pm and 5 pm. Saturday 19th October.
Turning it into both a Big Draw Event and an open Studio.
