Explore the heritage on our doorstep with Pavement Pounders The Building of Folkestone Since 2010 David Lay and Dr Maryanne Traylen who run Pavement Pounders CIC have devised and led 7 local walks exploring the heritage on our doorstep, part of our Pride of Place Project. We were pleased to be asked by Folkestone Town Council to lead our tour; “The Building of Folkestone” There were two busy periods of building in seaside towns in the last 200 years The first in the 19th century, the second resulting from seaside regeneration through the arts which is happening now. This tour will look mainly at buildings created as a result of these two periods of regeneration. The walk will start and end at the Town Hall. A leisurely stroll taking at most 2 hours. If the weather is too awful we have prepared an illustrated talk to show indoors instead. Times and booking details Saturday 26th April at 11 a.m. To book please contact Rebecca McCutcheon on 01303 257946 or email rebecca.mccutcheon@folkestone-tc.gov.uk
